DAHAT, LAGONOY, Camarines Sur
Barangay Dahat is situated west of the town proper with a distance of 1.6 km. from the Poblacion. This barangay was already popular during the Spanish time, but formally created in 1904. The original spelling of its name was "Dajat". It was originated from a name of a grass, with long slender trunk and double - bladed leaf, grew abundantly in the area during the Spanish occupation. It has a total land area of 149, 476, 696 hectares with 10.076 plain terrain, 90 hectares are dented to agriculture, 48 hectares are residential land while 11 hectares are dented to other uses. Adjacent barangays are Himagtocon on the north, Amoguis on the south, Saripongpong on the east and San Roque on the West.
Major source of livelihood are farming, livestock raising and employment. Commercial establishments operating in the area consist of sari-sari stores and one rice/corn mills.
The current population of the barangay is 1,940 with three hundred ninety five (395) families and three hundred eighty one (381) households. The transportation facilities are limited to padjacks, motorized padjacks, trimobiles and irregular operation of some jeepneys.
Protecting services are provided by the Barangay Tanod and the Barangay Fire Brigade.
For sports and recreational activities of the residents, a basketball court is in the area. TV viewing is also one way of spending leisure time by the residents.
Fifty percent (50%) of the households utilized the Commercial Water Point Source Level (PDA-NAWASA) and electricity is being supplied to 381 households while 50% households uses other power sources.
